the methods mobile devices communicate are called protocols , you need to identify and describe all the protocols used by an up to date mobile phone and a laptop, giving examples of the file type you would send over protocols.
up to date phones can use facebook , tumblr , skype and many more social websites also you can save videos and save pictures ect.
its all the same with a laptop a well.
wifi- is an internet conection in your house or job, its can be connected when you neasr in the the building. WiFi a local area network that uses high frequency radio signals to transmit and receive data over distances of a few hundred feet; uses ethernet protocol.
Blue-tooth -This wireless technology enables communication between Bluetooth-compatible devices. It is used for short-range connections between desktop and laptop computers, PDAs (like the Palm Pilot or Handspring Visor), digital cameras, scanners, cellular phones, and printers.
sms-Abbreviation
Short message (or messaging) service, a system that enables cellular phone users to send and receive text messages.
Noun-A text message that is sent or received using SMS.
verb-Send someone a text message using SMS.

Bbm-Blackberry Messenger (BBM) is an instant messaging (IM) application that can be downloaded from the Internet for Blackberry smartphones. Upgrades allow message transmission between Blackberry owners engaging in multiple and simultaneous smartphone applications, such as games. Research In Motion (RIM), the creator of the BlackBerry device, is the developer of BBM. Blackberry Messenger messages are delivered using the internet and employ the PIN system from BlackBerry; therefore, BBM can only be used between two BlackBerry devices.
